IG-100 Inert Gas Fire Suppression
Smarter, safer, and engineered for the future — with zero environmental compromise.
When a fire threatens your most critical assets — servers, control systems, archives, medical equipment — the suppression agent matters as much as the speed of response. The Janus Fire Systems® IG-100 Inert Gas System extinguishes fire using pure nitrogen: no synthetic chemistry, no residue, no corrosion, and no risk to the people or equipment inside the protected space.
IG-100 carries Zero Ozone Depleting Potential and Zero Global Warming Potential — making it a future-proof alternative to halon and halocarbon clean agents with no regulatory phase-out risk.
The Clean Agent That’s Actually Clean
Unlike synthetic halocarbon alternatives, IG-100 is simply nitrogen — the same gas that makes up 78% of the air we breathe. There is no chemical manufacturing, no proprietary formulation, and no risk of future regulatory restriction.

How It Works
Nitrogen is stored as a compressed gas in steel cylinders at 300 bar (4,351 psig) at 15°C (59°F). On discharge, it expands through calibrated nozzles and mixes thoroughly with room air, reducing oxygen concentration to the design level — below the threshold that supports combustion, but within the range safe for human exposure during egress.
Every system is hydraulically modeled using Janus Design Suite® (JDS®) flow calculation software, accounting for your specific room geometry, leakage characteristics, and nozzle layout. The result is a system engineered to your hazard — not adapted from a standard template.
Product Benefits
300 Bar Cylinder Design
- Optimized cylinder count for a compact footprint
- Field-removable gauge simplifies maintenance
- Up to 284 cylinders operated by a single electrical valve actuator — fewer actuation components
Regulated Flow Output
- Lower discharge pressure means standard Schedule 40 piping is sufficient — no high- pressure fittings or specialty contractors
- Lower room ventilation requirements reduce building modification costs
- Multi-room protection from a single cylinder bank
Industry-Leading Hardware & Software
- 180° and 360° discharge nozzles for flexible coverage geometry
- Fewer nozzles and pipes mean faster installation
- Janus Design Suite® (JDS®) flow calculation software — UL listed and validated
Extended Agent Retention
- Maintains design concentration for the full NFPA-required 10-minute hold time, even in spaces with normal ventilation leakage
- Drop-in retrofit for facilities replacing halon or legacy clean agents
Protected Applications & Market Sectors
IG-100 is the preferred choice for any space where fire suppression residue, electrical conductivity, or chemical toxicity would compound the damage. Applications span three broad categories:
Mission-Critical Electronics
& Data
- Telecommunication & Computer Rooms
- Fixed and Modular Data Centers
- Facility Control Rooms
- Air Traffic Control
No residue, no corrosion, no downtime. IG-100 suppresses fire without damaging servers, network hardware, or control systems — and requires no post- discharge cleanup.
Cultural, Archival
& Financial Assets
- Museums, Libraries & Archive Storage
- Financial Institutions
- Medical Equipment Rooms (MRI, etc.)
No residue, no corrosion, no downtime. IG-100 suppresses fire without damaging servers, network hardware, or control systems — and requires no post- discharge cleanup.
Industrial & Energy
Controls
- Electrical Switchgear Rooms
- Power Generation (Nuclear, Gas & Coal)
- Automated Manufacturing Cells
- Petroleum, Oil & Gas Operation Controls
- Flammable Storage
High-reliability suppression for energized equipment and hazardous environments. The 300 bar cylinder design and single-actuator operation minimize complexity in facilities where uptime is critical.
